Dr. Turco is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and completed her residency training at NYU School of Medicine. She works with adults and adolescents who are interested in a unique and integrative approach to mental health and well being. Factors such as nutrition, lifestyle, spiritual practice, and mindfulness will be considered for every individual. This approach is particularly helpful for people suffering from anxiety or depression, but can also help with people who feel stuck or that their lives in someway lack meaning or purpose.
She has both extensively studied and practiced integrative health and healing, metaphysics, eastern religion and philosophy, nutritional neuroscience, and mind body medicine. She offers psychopharmacology, nutrional counseling, psychotherapy, mindfulness training, and stress reduction techniques. Individual’s seeking alternatives to medication will find her to be an excellent resource.
She spent time as the Associate Director and then Interim Director of Bellevue’s Psychiatric Emergency Department. She has expertise in diagnostic assessment, Emergency Psychiatry, and acute crisis management and counseling. Her practice also encompasses a focus on women’s health care and the unique challenges that women face throughout the lifespan. She has expertise in Reproductive Psychiatry and treats women before, during, and after pregnancy who may suffer from perinatal and postpartum related disorders. She is currently an associate clinical professor on faculty at NYU School of Medicine where she teaches and supervises physicians in training. In addition, she is working part-time with the NYU/ Bellevue World Trade Center Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program which offers treatment to 9/11 first responders.
